Forest School

The nursery is very committed to outdoor learning. Rubery Nursery School has set up a shared Forest School area. It is modelled on the Scandinavian idea of the outdoor classroom.

The emphasis is on learning all skills in the outdoors, having the freedom to explore the ever-changing environment, taking risks and children assessing risks for themselves.

This experience of learning develops individual learning styles, nurtures self-esteem and confidence, promotes communication and social skills and develops appreciation and respect for the natural environment.

We have invested in purpose made forest school suits for the children that can be worn all weathers keeping them warm and dry in our Great British weather, enabling them to have fun in the mud!
